In conjunction with the AEP program, we are offering 3 'Winning Edge' sport science sessions. These sessions are included in the registration fee for AEP athletes and are also available to purchase separately for other athletes. You can register for 1 session at a time, or for all 3.
All sessions will be held at the University of Lethbridge Room PE261 or the Lethbridge Sport Council Community Room. Instructions will be emailed to all registered athletes. Sessions will be on February 18th, March 1, and March 11th.

Meet the Team - Past Chair, Shaun Ward
Shaun Ward came to Lethbridge in 1970. He was employed by Lethbridge College to be an instructor of outdoor activities. Shaun's contribution to the community sport sector as a City Alderman and citizen was honoured with a named award, the Shaun Ward Sport Champion. He was appointed Chair of the Lethbridge Sport Council in 2015. Shaun and his wife Pat have two adult children.
Introducing our new intern, Nash Shipton
Nash Shipton joined Lethbridge Sport Council in the winter of 2022 as an intern. Nash is currently with the Lethbridge College
Kodiaks competing in the sport of volleyball. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in psychology. Nash is a local athlete
in the Lethbridge community and is looking forward to giving back to the community.

Alberta Sports Hall of Fame Inductees
The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame announced the two athletes, five builders, and four award winners who will join the Hall of Fame officially on October 21, 2022, during the Induction Ceremony in Red Deer.
The recipients of the Pioneer Award are the ACAC Founding Members.
The first executive officers of the Western Intercollege Conference were Dr. Gary Bowie, Mr. Ben Books, Mr. Al Buttle, and Mr. Gary Meadus.

Dr. Gary Bowie, Chairman of the College Conference is quoted as saying the purpose is “To encourage student participating in various athletic and cultural events using competition among the various junior colleges and
institutions of technology.” That purpose 58 years later still holds true for the ACAC.

Congratulations to Dr. Gary Bowie and all the other recipients announced today.
RBC Training Ground
Year seven of RBC Training Ground will return this spring with plans for free in-person qualifying events across the country, guided by local health and safety protocols. The virtual testing format will remain open to athletes who are unable to join in person. Program accessibility, diversity, and inclusion will continue to be prioritized. 
Coach Training Modules
Did you know AlbertaSport.ca offers a full calendar of multi-sport training modules specifically for coaches? There is a tab at the top of their homepage labeled ‘Coaches’ that can provide you with all the information you need. The courses featured are not offered through the NCCP Locker but are prerequisites for some of their coaching levels, they may also help you reach your PD point goals.
Roving Gyms - Still FREE and still FUN!
The Roving Gyms program nurtures physical literacy, the love of movement, and provides an environment for families to connect.
Gyms are held Tuesday evenings 6:00 - 7:00 PM @Immanuel Lutheran Church, and Thursday mornings 10:00 - 11:00 AM @ Servus Sports Centre (South)
Everyone should experience quality sport.
