Letter from the 2022-2023
Chamber President
Greetings from The Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce!

I would like to thank you for welcoming me as the President of the Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce! I am very honored to serve in this capacity for such a long-standing community organization.

A little information about my background, I graduated from the Oneida City School District and attended SUNY Morrisville. I have been working at AmeriCU Credit Union since 1999 and currently hold the position of Financial Center Manager in the Oneida location. I have lived in this area for most of my life and am very committed to seeing us grow and succeed together.

Back in 2020, our Chamber Board was sorting through old boxes in the Chamber Office. We found the photo posted at the bottom of this letter. It is a photo from a Chamber Annual Banquet that was held in 1894. Seeing that photo is what has helped to inspire me to keep going for this organization during the hardships that we have all faced over the past few years.

There are two things that struck me as important about the photo -

1.   1894 is obviously a very long time ago. To still be in business today is an amazing accomplishment for all of those who have volunteered to keep the organization alive!

2.   The photo also serves as a reminder just how far women have come in equality. At the time this photo was taken, women were not allowed to attend events. How far we have come that I am now able to serve as your Chamber President. What an honor that is!

As we continue to recover from the Pandemic, the Chamber’s goal is to work toward improving the quality of life for all through the support and commitment of its members, volunteers and committees.

The entire Board urges our membership to become active in the Chamber and in doing so, the community. People want to do business with those they know and trust, and the only way to do that is to become active and participate. We all know one of the best methods of securing new business is through referrals and networking.

Most importantly be there for each other. The main way we can forge through this pandemic is by helping one another, showing generosity, and by providing support in this great community that we live and work in!

As the 2022-2023 Chamber President, I am honored to work alongside our dedicated Board who all share the same vision, business growth and healthy community environment.

If you are not a member of the Greater Oneida Chamber of Commerce, please join us today. Your membership will benefit your business and the community. I look forward to working with everyone during my time as President.

We are stronger together!

Sincerely,

Rachel Siderine
