Castle View football families-
I hope you have had a great summer. The football program has had a productive summer.
We have had between 85-110 (grades 9-12) kids in the weight room this summer. Overall, I feel good about our summer work. I wanted to reach out to you to give you important dates and information as we transition into football season.
Summer Weights and Practices:
We will continue to lift weights Monday-Thursday in the morning the week of July 23 and July 30. From
July 30
th
to August 3, we will begin our football fall camp from
3:30-5:30 pm. This camp is for all players in grades 9-12. We will practice the 30
th, 31
st and 3
rd from 3:30-5:30pm and from
4:00-6:00pm on August 1 and 2. This camp is not mandatory but attendance is highly encouraged.
Monday, August 6
th is the first official day of football. All players 9-12 will begin practice from 3:10-5:15pm all week. We will practice on Saturday, August 11th and 18th. Our Saturday practice schedule will be 7:15-11:00am both days. All other football dates and schedules are on our team web site castleviewfootball.com.
All players must have ALL paperwork cleared in order to practice on August 2nd. Families are encouraged to have all paperwork done the week of July 30
th. This paperwork includes a current physical, proof of insurance, and all other signed paperwork.
Registration and Physical:
Register for football before August 2nd on
sabercatsports.org
. M
ake sure to complete the last step and pay the $185.
Part 2 of the online registration is to print out a Physical Form and get it signed by a doctor. Physicals are only good for 1 year. Must be turned in to the CVHS office before August 2nd.
**If you can't get into your doctor most chiropractors, urgent care, and King Soopers/Walgreens have sports physicals for under $40.
Part 3 of registration is new this year:
Beginning with school year 2018-19, Student Athletes must create an account with CHSAA using one of the following methods:
- Text S41315 to 69274. You will then receive a text reply with a link to create an account, or
- Create an account at arbiterathlete.com from any desktop, laptop, tablet, iPad, or smartphone.
CV Football Discount/Fundraiser Cards:
All players will receive Castle View Football cards the week of July 23rd to sell for our major football fundraiser. All players will receive 25 cards. The expectation is that all players will sell 25 cards. Prizes will be earned for cards sold. All players will participate in this fundraiser. Players are encouraged to begin selling these cards as soon as possible. The longer they wait, the harder it will be to sell these cards. These cards are a quality product and people will buy them if our players invest time trying to sell them. Again, the expectation is that all players sell 25 cards.
Parade:
On Saturday, July 28
th, all of our players (grades 9-12) will participate in the Douglas County Parade. All players will meet at 7:45am at Castle View High school to receive game jerseys to wear during the parade. All players will then meet at 8:30 near the Fairgrounds to walk together in the parade.
Fall Parent Meeting:
Our Fall Football Parents meeting will be on Tuesday, August 7
th at 6:00pm in the auditorium. ALL families need to have at least 1 parent/guardian attend this meeting. We will discuss the fall schedule and have other important information about the upcoming season.

Back The Cats:
On Friday, August 10
th, we will celebrate the hard work of summer and introduce you to all of our players and coaches at the “Back The Cats” event. This is an important event for us and I need you and your family to attend as it sets the tone for the upcoming season. This year, we are fortunate enough to have Bronco Great, Karl Mecklenburg as our featured speaker. Karl is likely to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019 and I am so excited for our team to be able to meet and hear him! The Gridiron Club has accommodated my request to set pricing at under $50 through the end July so we can make sure all families and friends have a chance to attend.
CLICK HERE to purchase your ticket today. Note: Players are FREE.
Additionally, a number of businesses have donated tickets. DO NOT let the ticket price keep you from attending as we need all families at this special event. Please contact our Booster president, Charles Oster (
[email protected]) if you need a donated ticket or two.
Communication:
Finally, it is important that we are all on the same page as it relates to communication. Most all of my communication will go through players and through the Gridiron Club via Constant Contact email and Social Media. I will rarely use my district email for correspondence. It is vital that you get signed up for the parent newsletter and text alerts along with checking the website for regular updates.
www.CastleVeiwFootball.com is our hub for information. You will see a button that says “Newsletter and Alerts”. Make sure you are on the list. Text “CVFootball” to 33222 to be signed up for Alerts on your mobile phone.
In closing, we have been teaching our players and coaches the importance of “Doing their Jobs”. To make a program great, it is essential that everyone does their job and they do it well. I appreciate the effort that each family puts into this program on a daily basis. I know there has been a tremendous amount of work put forth all year and our coaching staff is very grateful for this. If you haven’t gotten involved yet, please know that we need you. Our coaching staff will continue to our jobs by having our football team ready to compete.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
