Christ the King Lutheran Church
Letter from Jill Harms
Hello everyone,

I write this from my home office, hoping all of you are staying in and staying safe. I have talked to many people who are wondering how we can continue to love and serve our world, while keeping everyone safe. Below are a few ways you can help.

CtK's God's Army
How can the church be the church? By taking care of those most vulnerable to this disease. Phone calls were made to every CtK senior, encouraging them to call the office if they are in need of someone to do errands for them.

*Seniors:  Please know we want to take care of you and keep you safe. If you are in need of help, please email Geoff Layman at glayman@nd.edu or call the church office (574) 272-4306.

Also, if you would like help using the Martin's to Go, please contact Geoff for assistance.

*Future seniors:  We are not the vulnerable population and must take care of those who are. If you are willing and able to pick up groceries or prescriptions for our CtK seniors, please email Jill Harms at connection@ctkluth.com and your name will be added to the CtK God's Army list.

Clay Food Pantry
The pantry is now doing curbside delivery to their guests, to keep both the volunteers and guests safe. If you are able to do any of the following volunteer opportunities, please contact Jill Harms. They are in need of:

* Backup volunteers:    Their current schedule is full but they are worried volunteers may cancel and would like a back-up list of people to call. Shifts are Mondays from 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - noon.

* Food Delivery:    There is a local recovery house that has 31 residents, many of whom work in the service industry and are laid off. They have no transportation and need food. Clay is in need of drivers to deliver food on the front porch of this house. We were able to deliver 350 Spring Break bags to the South Bend Schools (thank you to all who donated food to this effort). Clay is committed to purchasing enough food to make 500 more bags and will need to have people deliver these bags to the schools in the upcoming weeks.

* Money Donations:   The 500 bags feeding the students in South Bend is going to cost $6,000. To make a donation to this effort, please click on the following link:
When you are at this link, under FUND, choose Food for Kids.

Dismas House
Dismas House is still in need of people to deliver a meal to their home on Tuesday, March 31. If you would like to prepare a meal and leave it on their front porch, please contact Jill Harms to get more information.

As we move forward over the next few months, let us continue to be a church that loves and serves the world. If you hear of a community need the church can assist with, please contact me. I will continue to update you on our community partners and their needs.

God's peace,
Jill Harms
