Dear Parents/Guardians:
I am writing to update you on how we are addressing the ongoing coronavirus challenge in the Ossining School District.
As of this writing, we have no confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), and as a result, no plans to close our schools have been considered. However, we have several teachers who have been advised by the Westchester County Department of Health to self-quarantine as a result of potential exposure to coronavirus. These individuals currently have no symptoms and the recommendation to self-quarantine is being made (and followed) out of an abundance of caution. The professional opinion of health care officials and others is that this ‘watch and wait’ scenario is a prudent course of action by the school district at this time.
If there should be a confirmed case within our district, we will notify you immediately and will make decisions about school operations based upon the guidance of the New York State Department of Health and the New York State Department of Education.

Les escribo para darles información actualizada sobre cómo estamos abordando el problema actual del coronavirus en el Distrito Escolar de Ossining.
Al momento de escribir esta carta, no tenemos casos confirmados de coronavirus (COVID-19), y como resultado, No hemos considerado planes para cerrar nuestras escuelas. Sin embargo, tenemos varios maestros a quienes el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Westchester les ha aconsejado que se pongan en cuarentena como resultado de una posible exposición al coronavirus. Estas personas actualmente no tienen síntomas y la recomendación de auto-cuarentena se ha hecho (y continúa) por precaución.
