Letter from Superintendent Sanchez regarding staff parade

Dear Ossining Families,

We hope you are doing well! Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28th at 3:30 p.m. (weather permitting) some of our elementary and middle school teachers and staff will be led by the police for a parade around Ossining in their cars. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting event for our elementary and middle school teachers and students . Our focus is safety first. We will begin at Ossining High School and the parade is intended to be viewed in as many neighborhoods as possible in order to maintain social distancing. We will not be traveling the common parade route and will move at a slightly more brisk pace than your usual parade. There will be a number of officers working at the perimeter to safely close as many intersections as possible as we move. The police will also stream most of the parade live so people know when we are in their neighborhood. Please note that we have been discussing options for recognitions for our High School students as well. More details to follow! Below please find an outline of our parade route. We look forward to sharing happy smiles and waves during this time!

¡Espero que estén bien! El martes 28 de abril a las 3:30 p. m. (si el tiempo lo permite) algunos de nuestros/as maestros/as de las escuelas elementales y miembros del personal serán dirigidos por la policía para llevar a cabo un desfile alrededor de Ossining. Esperamos que este sea un evento emocionante y divertido para nuestros/as maestros/as y estudiantes. La seguridad es nuestra primera prioridad. Empezaremos en la Escuela Secundaria de Ossining y se pretende que el desfile sea visto en tantos vecindarios como sea posible a fin de mantener el distanciamiento social. No nos desplazaremos por la ruta común del desfile y nos moveremos a un ritmo un poco más rápido que el de un desfile habitual. Habrá varios oficiales trabajando en el perímetro para cerrar de una manera segura tantas intersecciones como sea posible, a medida que nos vamos movilizando. La policía también transmitirá la mayor parte del desfile en vivo para que la gente sepa cuando estamos en su vecindario.
