At this evening’s Council meeting, we acknowledged the fact that Pastor Laura’s Interim Ministry Agreement comes to a close at the end of April. We are grateful for her work with us over the past year, and we will be celebrating her time with us with a special liturgy on April 26th. More information will be coming about that as the date draws nearer.
As you are aware, our finances have been an area of concern this year. We continue to welcome special financial gifts and building rental referrals as we seek to increase income flow. We have made some progress in that area this month, and we know that some of the expenses that we have this year will not be required next year. The Council and staff have agreed that the best way forward is to adjust our current clergy members’ hours to stay within budget and to continue to support the church through this time of transition. To that end, Rev. Nikki will be working an average of 32 hours per week (8 fewer than she does currently), and Rev. Anna will be working an average of 28 hours per week (13 more than she does currently). These changes will take effect starting in May. We are truly blessed to have an abundance of pastoral experiences and gifts within our congregation, and we are all confident that together we can continue the process of living more fully into our mission, vision, and values as we prepare for the next steps in our life together.
During this time, the Search Committee will continue to work on our profile and prepare to seek candidates for our next pastorate. Your input and participation will be invaluable to their work and to our work together.
Thank you all for your continued support of this amazing church! Your time, talent, prayers, and financial support are so appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I am honored to “Be The Church” with you.
May the peace of Christ be with you all!
