2026 marks Loretto Maryholme Spirituality Centre’s 25th anniversary. Marvelous! Twenty-five years providing women and men a sanctuary where they restore their energies, heal, grow, becoming the people they long to be. In 2001 the Loretto Sisters opened their home as a haven for others in need of respite and renewal, and countless people from all walks of life have come for nurture here.
The founder of the Loretto Sisters (Congregation of Jesus) was the courageous and energetic visionary, Mary Ward. She envisioned an international sisterhood of women “contemplatives in action” at a time when nuns were all cloistered. To this day her sisters around the globe are serving people in myriad ways… educating, promoting justice, advocating for refugees and people in poverty, serving in pastoral and spiritual ministries.
Loretto Maryholme is founded in Mary Ward’s spirit, values, and vision. For twenty-five years we have continued our mission to encourage individuals and groups to explore and restore the energies needed for personal, communal, and world transformation.
During these years, numerous retreat centres closed in Ontario and across North America. Yet Loretto Maryholme endured economic hard times, even the COVID pandemic. Please help Maryholme continue. Your contribution makes us more enduring and vibrant. Click here to contribute
For the ability to offer this peaceful land and comforting home for others’ well-being, we thank God and all who have been a part of Loretto Maryholme’s first twenty-five years.
Please join us in this mission… in this healing of our world.
With grateful blessings to you,
