Before you find your shovel and start those spring and summer projects, be sure to call 811! Not only is it required by law, but calling 811 before you begin any excavation prevents damage to underground facilities, service interruptions, and bodily injury. Remember to call prior to the start of your project, and allow two days lead time for locates to be performed before your project begins.
The Utility Notification Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and accepts calls from contractors, homeowners, or anyone planning to dig in Oregon. Calling before you dig ensures that any publicly-owned underground facilitieswill be marked according to the APWA Color Code so you can dig safely.
