Dear Incarnation family,

Following Dr. Beeley’s announcement that he will be departing the Church of the Incarnation, I wanted to write on behalf of the vestry with some important details as we walk through this transition together.

We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Beeley and are thankful for his fruitful ministry in this season of our church. Our parish has been blessed by his gifts of teaching and preaching. It is with joy that he turns the page to a new chapter in his spiritual life with Christ. While we are saddened by his departure, we are excited to see how God uses him in this new journey.

I would like to thank Fr. Philputt and Bishop Sumner for their assistance in guiding the vestry through this transition. I would also like to thank the vestry for their prayerful diligence and hard work.

We’re grateful that Bishop Greg Brewer, a seasoned rector and retired bishop of Central Florida, has agreed to step in as our interim rector beginning November 10. Bishop Brewer is a native of Richmond, Virginia, and has served in the Episcopal Church for over 45 years. We look forward to introducing him to our parish community. He will play an important role during this time of transition.

In the meantime, I hope you will join me at a reception on Sunday, November 3, at 10:15 a.m. in the Welcome Center to celebrate Dr. Beeley’s work in our parish and extend our best wishes to him and Shannon.

I know that the staff and leadership remain committed to the longstanding mission of Incarnation—worshipping in the great tradition of the Church, growing disciples of Jesus Christ, serving the poor, and raising up Christian leaders for the renewal of the Church.

We ask that you pray for Christopher and Shannon as they move into the next stage of ministry and pray for the health and mission of our church as we embark on the next chapter of our life together.

If you have questions or need to reach me or a member of the vestry, please feel free to email info@incarnation.org or call the church office at (214) 521-5101, and we will help connect you.

Grace and peace,
