Dear Marlins,
I’ve been around long enough to see generations of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends walk these grounds, and let me tell you—our story just keeps getting better. I’ve welcomed you at orientation, cheered you on from the sidelines, celebrated your triumphs, and yes, even shared in the tough moments that made us stronger. Through it all, one thing has never changed: the spirit of the Marlin family.
As our University looks ahead to an exciting new chapter, I want to remind you that your legacy here is part of something bigger—a tradition of excellence, friendship, and community that has carried us from our beginnings into a bold future. Every banner, every cheer echoes with the voices of those who came before and those yet to come.
And now, it’s time for us to come together again. Consider this your o-fish-al invitation to Homecoming & Family Weekend, which starts TOMORROW, October 3. Join us back on campus for a weekend of memories, laughter, and connection. Whether you graduated decades ago or just last spring, this is your home. I’ll be there, ready to welcome you with open fins and plenty of spirit!
The tide has never been stronger, and your place in our story has never been more important.
Once a Marlin, always a Marlin.
