Dear Archbishop Carroll Community,

First and foremost, I hope that you and your families are all staying safe and healthy during this quarantine. Obviously, this is a very uncertain time for all of us. Some of us have parents who are wondering when they can return to work. We may be missing certain family members that we are unable to visit at this time, and of course, we all are wondering when we will get to reunite together as a Carroll family. These are all answers that, unfortunately, we do not have at this time.

When schools were initially suspended, I do not think that any of us envisioned that we would not return to Carroll for the remainder of the year. However, since Carroll and all Pennsylvania schools have been closed, I have been in regular contact with Mr. Fox, the administration, and the student council. I can honestly say with the utmost confidence that they are all doing their absolute best to find ways to provide a fitting end to the school year for all students.

From multiple conversations I have had with the administration, every effort will be made to give the seniors a solution regarding our year end events, while also complying with the current restrictions in place. They truly want what is best for us, and our health and safety will continue to be the number one priority.

To the underclassmen, I want you all to know that the administration has certainly not forgotten about you either. Even though this is not your last year at Carroll, we do not by any means want to diminish its importance. I know the juniors were looking forward to their Ring Mass and junior prom. Sophomores and freshmen were heading into your spring sports seasons as well as the spring show.

We will continue to try to come up with fun and creative ideas for all of us to get through this together. For now, we must continue to pray that this will all come to an end and hope for a time in the not so distant future that we can all come together again as one community. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me or any student council members about potential fun ideas or suggestions that you may have while we are still isolating.

Lastly, please find the time to fill out the survey that the school recently sent out. The goal is so the administration and teachers can all see how you are handling this quarantine situation, and so your voices can be heard.

Carroll is a strong community. We all will get through this together. Let us all trust in God and not lose hope. As you see in the picture, there is a rainbow shining on your families and Carroll.

Wishing you and your families all the best,

Tommy Anderson ‘20
