Sunrooms are coveted by many homeowners for the light and warmth that they bring into the house. There are several different types of sunrooms, including three-season rooms, four-season rooms, screened-in porches, conservatories, solariums, and more. If you are looking to add a sunroom to your home, consider the following design options to bring as much of the outdoors into your space as possible:
Prioritize windows. To maximize the amount of sun that enters your space, choose large windows—and plenty of them! Windows can be installed from the floor to the ceiling or used instead of a ceiling. Keep in mind that the sun will impact the room's temperature, so plan accordingly.
Add plants. Flowers, plants, and potted trees evoke nature at its finest and are a perfect addition to a sunroom. Choose plants that need lots of sun, like ferns, succulents, orchids, or peace lilies, so that they will thrive in your sunroom. And if you don’t have a green thumb, fake plants will work just as well.
Use natural materials. Opt for flooring, furniture, and accessories made from natural wood, bamboo, teak, or rattan. These materials can be incorporated into any interior design style (coastal, rustic, or country, for example) and will help your sunroom take on a more outdoorsy feel.
Choose a light color. Neutral paint colors are ideal for sunrooms as the light can bring out their subtle undertones. Earthy colors like pale green, blue, or yellow are popular choices, and white is always a winner in giving a bright sunroom appearance. Light-colored furniture and décor are also smart; not only will the room feel airy, but the furniture will be less susceptible to fading from the sun.
Incorporate outdoor scents into your space. For the finishing touch on your sunroom, infuse the space with candles, air fresheners, or diffusers with natural scents. Whether you prefer floral, woodsy, fruity, or beachy scents, you can bring your sunroom one step closer to the outdoors.

If you have windows, you need window coverings! Not only do they provide privacy, but they can also help regulate temperature in the home. Plus, they are essential to your home's interior design. Window-covering trends change just like other aspects of home design. Check out what's new and now in the world of window coverings:
Earthy tones. Neutrals rule when it comes to window coverings. Warm white, ivory, beige, and tan colors provide a cozy atmosphere for your home and complement almost any decorating style. If you want to add a pop of color to your window coverings, choose earthy tones like moss green, sky blue, or forest brown.
Sheer fabrics. Sheer window coverings allow tons of light to enter the home, making rooms seem brighter and airy. Different levels of sheerness enable homeowners to choose the best curtain for their privacy needs.
Textures. Textured options are a top choice for window coverings. Subtle weaves are the most popular option for curtains and roller shades, adding a sense of elegance to a room. Faux wood textures are standard picks for vertical blinds and panels.
Bold patterns. Patterned window coverings are a great way to add a decorative touch to your room. Floral motifs (think vines, petals, and leaves) and structured geometric shapes are among the most popular patterns for 2024.
Layered window coverings. Consider layering window treatments, such as curtains over blinds or woven shades over wood blinds, to create depth and interest in your room. This enhances the room's aesthetic and gives you flexibility in terms of light and privacy.
Smart window treatments. Just like everything else in your home, window coverings can be controlled by your phone or virtual assistant. Motorized blinds and shades allow you to pre-program when they should be raised and lowered throughout the day.
Cordless blinds. More and more homeowners are choosing blinds without cords. This makes them safer for small children and eliminates the hassle of twisted cords.

When most people think of generators, they think of power outages and emergencies. Generators are commonly used for restoring electricity to run appliances and medical equipment during these times, but they can also be used for much more. See what fun you can have with a portable generator:
Tailgating
With football games in full force, tailgating hits its stride in the fall, and a portable generator can take your tailgating game to the next level. Power a TV to catch all the pre-game action, plug in a mini-fridge to keep your drinks cold, or set up a gaming station to entertain the younger tailgaters.
Camping
There are many different types of camping, and if you prefer a cushier camping experience, a generator will be your new best friend. Generators can power fans or heating devices, electric cooking equipment, and perhaps most importantly, lights! Just ensure your campsite has a power hook-up, and you're ready.
Outdoor Parties
Throwing a backyard wedding, family reunion, or an all-out bash requires more power than usual. With photo booths, DJs, cooking stations, bounce houses, and more, a generator provides the extra power you need without putting a strain on your home's electrical system.
Boating
For boatmen, generators can provide peace of mind when you are out on the water. While larger boats often have built-in generators, portable, marine-approved generators can be used in smaller boats to power fridges, microwaves, fans, and lights; they can also be used to charge phones, laptops, and other devices.
Home Projects
If you love building things for your home, a generator will come in handy more often than you may think. Portable generators allow you to have power wherever you are working, whether in the backyard, in the driveway, or any other location that isn't within reach of an outlet. Just think about how much more enjoyable your project will be without worrying about extension cords!

Can I Move My Kitchen In a Home Remodel | |
If you know your kitchen design no longer fits your family’s needs, then it may be time for a kitchen remodel! What if you look around your kitchen and feel that the existing space and location are not fit for purpose? Should you start packing your boxes and looking for a new home? Not necessarily!
While changing your kitchen is a big endeavor, it pales in comparison to buying and moving to a new home. Ask yourself: Do you love your existing home and neighborhood? Are the kids happy and in a great school? Can you not bear the thought of moving boxes taking over your life? If the answer to these questions is yes, then it is time to explore alternatives for your kitchen design that allow you to stay in your existing home.

Ingredients:
- 24 uncooked jumbo pasta shells
- 1 pound chopped smoked pork
- 1 1/4 cups ricotta cheese (about 10 oz.)
- 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 8 oz.), divided
- 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, divided
- 1 (24-oz.) jar marinara sauce
- 3/4 cup bottled barbecue sauce
Directions:
Step 1
Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, about 9 minutes. Drain, and transfer to a baking sheet. Cool 15 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, stir together next 7 ingredients, 1 cup of the mozzarella, and 1/4 cup of the parsley in a large bowl. Stir together marinara and barbecue sauce in a bowl. Spread 1 3/4 cups of the marinara mixture in bottom of a 9- x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 3
Fill each cooled shell with 2 heaping tablespoons pork mixture and arrange in prepared baking dish. Pour remaining 2 cups marinara mixture over shells. To cook now: Preheat oven to 375°F. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup mozzarella. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake until heated through, 20 to 25 minutes. Uncover; bake until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons parsley. To freeze for later: Wrap tightly in 2 layers of plastic wrap. Freeze up to 3 months. To thaw and cook: Thaw in refrigerator 24 hours. Preheat oven to 375°F; place unwrapped dish on counter while oven preheats. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup mozzarella. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake until heated through, 40 to 45 minutes. Uncover, and bake until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons parsley.
