Construction for Storm Drains along North Coast Highway 101 from Jupiter Street to La Costa Avenue, and Median Work
We are excited to announce that on June 12, 2024, the City Council approved additional funding for the continued construction of the large 60-inch storm drain pipe along North Coast Highway 101 from Jupiter Street to Moorgate Road. The work on this portion of the project is anticipated to begin early August.
PROJECT DETAILS
Current Work: Excavation at Jupiter Street and North Coast Highway (NCH) 101 for the 60-inch storm drain pipe. Excavation at Grandview Street and NCH 101 for the 60-inch storm drain pipe. Median root guard and irrigation installation
Traffic Adjustments: Northbound traffic at Grandview Street will be routed to a temporarily paved median area before returning to the northbound lane.
Future Work Planned: Once the 60-inch pipe installations at Jupiter Street and Grandview Street are complete, work will move to the eastside of NCH 101 between Grandview and La Costa Avenue. Following the main pipe installations, additional work will include 18-inch and 24-inch storm drain installations along NCH 101 from Jupiter to La Costa Avenue. The contractor may be active in various locations concurrently between Jupiter Street and La Costa Avenue.
TRAFFIC CONTROL MEASURES
To ensure the safety of the community and construction crews, traffic control measures will be in place from 7am to 5pm, including:
- Cones and signs
- Lane shifts and closures
- Flaggers directing traffic
SAFETY REMINDER
During the construction period, please expect intermittent lane shifts and closures, large construction equipment in the work zone, and temporary noise. We urge all drivers to follow marked signage and proceed with extra caution to ensure the safety of everyone, including cyclists and pedestrians.
