Construction at Jupiter Street, Grandview Street, along the Median and Storm Drain work
We are excited to announce the commencement of the storm drain pipe installation at the intersection of Jupiter Street and North Coast Highway (NCH) 101. This significant infrastructure project involves the installation of a 60-inch diameter storm drain pipe and is expected to take approximately four weeks.
PROJECT DETAILS
Current Work: Excavation at Jupiter Street and North Coast Highway (NCH) 101 for the 60-inch storm drain pipe.
Traffic Adjustments: Northbound traffic will be routed to a temporarily paved median area before returning to the northbound lane.
Future Work Planned: Once the pipe installation at Jupiter Street is complete, work will move to the intersection of Grandview Street and NCH 101. Following the main pipe installations, additional work will include 18-inch and 24-inch storm drain installations at the roundabouts on Jupiter and Grandview Streets. Median curbs will also be formed and poured over the coming weeks. Communication line installation along the east side of NCH 101 is scheduled for June. The contractor may be active in various locations between Jason Street (south of Jupiter Street) and La Costa Avenue.
TRAFFIC CONTROL MEASURES
To ensure the safety of the community and construction crews, traffic control measures will be in place from 7am to 5pm, including:
- Cones and signs
- Lane shifts and closures
- Flaggers directing traffic
SAFETY REMINDER
During the construction period, please expect intermittent lane shifts and closures, large construction equipment in the work zone, and temporary noise. We urge all drivers to follow marked signage and proceed with extra caution to ensure the safety of everyone, including cyclists and pedestrians.
