La Costa and North Coast Highway 101 Intersection Signal Work

As part of the upcoming Streetscape work, crews are preparing to to install a large drainage pipe beneath the La Costa Avenue and Coast Highway 101 intersection. This work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 19, 2025 and is designed to minimize traffic impacts by boring under the intersection rather than trenching through it.

In preparation for this work, crews will be on site tomorrow, Thursday, May 16, to address an unmarked traffic signal conduit.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Thursday, May 16, 2025 at 5:30 a.m.: Temporary stop signs will be placed at the La Costa/101 intersection.
  • Around 12:00 p.m.: The signal will be re-energized and placed in flashing red mode (all-way stop).
  • By approximately 2:00 p.m.: Full signal operation is expected to resume.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important advance work ahead of the major construction starting next week.
