A few updates for this week that reflect things happening next week and beyond!
Extras Schedule - Aug 13-17
Please take a look at the updates to next week. Bri will be sending out past next week when she is back, so watch for that. There will be updates to intensive week for those who have expressed concern about overlaps!
😍 Hearts - NUVO
We mentioned that if there was a group at NUVO, this would be a mandatory event as it is for other Level 2 dancers and...

There is a group for these little ones!

NUVO will happen Oct 26-28 and is a convention that our 4-6 year olds in this group will attend.

Charges will be emailed as soon as we know the USD>CAD conversion and charged next week!
Intensive Schedule
Below you will find the Summer Intensive Schedule. We can't wait for this fun week of dance and inspiration!

A few notes about intensive:

  • Summer Intensive runs 9:30am - 3:30pm for all dancers
  • Everyone will warm-up together in Studio 1
  • All dancers in Junior/Inter/Senior will finish at 3:30pm
  • Novice dancers will run 4:00-6:00pm as mentioned
  • Juniors will take a morning break from 11:00-11:15am and an afternoon break from 2:15-2:25pm
  • Inters/Seniors will take a morning break from 11:10-11:15am

Attire should match the dance style you are taking on the schedule. If you are unsure what to wear, send us a quick email!
Uniform List
Below is the uniform list for competitive programs. Competitive gear will still be purchased through Bodythings on 17th ave or City Dancewear in the NW!

Please read through and email us with any additional questions if you have them!

Note: Jazz tights are not required. You can wait to purchase until your teacher arranges undergarments for costumes if you would like!
Tap Choreography
For those of you registered in a tap class, we reached out to see who would be interested in choreography and went with majority of responses.

Applies to all Rainbow, Twister & Fire Tap

No choreography in class but extras may be considered by the new tap teacher if he/she is inspired to work with the dancers!
Disneyland - Commitment Deadline
We are so excited for those of you able to attend Disneyland. If you are thinking you would like to join in on this once in a lifetime experience, please let us know by responding to this email with each attendees name (as shown on their passport) and their birthdate.

Please send this info by Friday August 31st so we can confirm numbers!

PBT Dates
Below is a list of when the PBT classes will run and this will be based around our competitions and other studio events. Please make note of the dates you do and do not have PBT. Be sure to use the dates from the day your class falls on!

Fundraising Starts Now!
Kendra has put together 2 fundraising opportunities to start the year!

We are so excited to offer our first fall fundraising opportunities! Proceeds go towards fees for extras, costumes and competition entry fees for your child.


Davison Orchards Apple Fundraiser

15lb boxes of apples (approx. 25 apples)

Honeycrisp $35/box
Gala or Okanagan Blend $28/box

You will make $13/box! 

Start fundraising now (pdf order form below)! Order forms and all cash and cheques need to be turned in at the studio in an envelope labelled with dancer name by deadline below. Cheques must be made payable to Friends of Alive Danceworks. 

Orders due: September 6
Delivery of apples: September 17 or 18

Mabel’s Labels Fundraiser

Order labels for all your dancewear, dance shoes, school clothing, supplies, lunch bags, etc. You make 20% of all sales. Order online starting today! Order as many times as you like – each order will ship right after it is placed. Funds will be accumulated throughout the campaign period.

A report summarizing the orders by email address will be provided by Mabels’ Labels to Kendra Wallace as the Friends of Alive Danceworks coordinator. 

Note: The only thing you need to do to ensure your dancer(s) receive credit for orders placed is to keep track of email addresses of any friends or family that place an order. Submit a list of those email addresses plus your own email address used to place an order by October 31 – send your list to Kendra at friendsofalivedance@gmail.com or drop off your list with Mandy or Bri at the studio.
