The 1031 CORP. Team members were grateful to see old friends and make new connections with real estate pros from across the country in March.
Bruce Glendinning and Katie Bromley attended the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Sales Convention 2024 in New Orleans in March. 1031 CORP. was a proud exhibitor at the 2024 event, themed “HERO: Enriching the Lives of Others.”
The NOLA conference theme highlighted a real estate professional's unique spot as a “hero” guide for buyers and sellers. The 1031 CORP. Team helped agents see how they could use 1031 exchanges to be a hero and enrich the lives of their clients.
We heard several common themes during our conversations: “How does a 1031 exchange work?,” “What are the most powerful ways 1031 exchanges can benefit of my investment real estate clients?,” and, “These superhero stress-ball giveaways are great!”

How do you make sure clients have an "exceptional exchange experience, made easy." ?
We take the burden off our clients and do it with a personal touch. We are patient and make sure the client knows every step of the process while keeping them aware of their timeline deadlines. I’m a big fan of the golden rule—always treat others how I’d like to be treated. There’s a lot of respect. I care about my clients and their exchanges and, like everyone on the Exchange Team, I make myself available. I had a client who was so passionate about his property. He told me about the people he bought the property from, the tree in the yard, and the history of the land. The heart and soul of the property. It was an emotional thing for him. We talked for nearly an hour-and-a-half about his exchange—but we walked through the process together. He became comfortable and trusted our team.
How do you keep current with important trends, new processes and the latest details within the industry?
The Exchange Team is committed to knowing the most about 1031 exchanges. I learn with my peers. We are each knowledgeable and work with the Certified Exchange Specialists® on staff. The Federation of Exchange Accommodators, the national association for Qualified Intermediaries, hosts webinars and conferences that I attend regularly, and we discuss our tricky exchanges in our team meetings every week. I also attend networking events to learn about the real estate industry. I get a lot from one-on-one conversations with lenders, real estate professionals, title officers, and marketing people. I love meeting new people and I learn something at every event. These events are always fun and valuable.
