Dear Biotech Networks Subscriber,

LevitasBio has developed a powerful new cell enrichment platform - the LeviCell - that gently enriches and purifies viable cells of interest in an unbiased (i.e. untargeted) or targeted (i.e. isolation of specific cell subpopulations) manner from virtually any sample source. Importantly, the enrichment circumvents the need for antibodies, dyes, beads, or high-pressure separation; this differentiator, compared to other enrichment methods, ensures that the native health and state of your cells of interest is maintained, improving data quality and processing efficiency. Levitation technology, equally robust at low and high starting cell inputs, can process any cell suspension prior to single cell sequencing or other downstream analytical workflows through three simple steps, with no requirement for debris removal or additional preparation steps.

Additionally, we are proud to announce the official commercial release of the higher throughput instrument LeviCell EOS and several new LeviSelect targeted cell enrichment kits!

The power and flexibility of our Levitation technology is shown through the profound improvements in data quality reported by our customers. The technology functions to deliver cells of optimal health independent of the cell type. Accordingly, an abbreviated list of sample and cell types shows the extent of validation that continues to grow, and the range of cell or particle sizes that are amenable for enrichment is broad, spanning from bacterial enrichment to large moieties (i.e. Enrichment of healthy organoids). The following three data sets are provided as examples to demonstrate the benefits afforded by LeviCell enrichment:

  • Discovery Life Sciences Case Study – independent assessment of 100 different tumor samples across 21 different tumor types with successful processing (i.e. improved viability) of every sample.

  • Versatility of the Levitation technology is evident after a series of experiments by Dr. Ernesto Diaz-Flores (former Associate Professor at UCSF), where data across multiple applications (i.e. single cell sequencing, patient-derived xenograft optimization, and cell survival lentiviral transduction) was significantly improved.

In addition to the work by Dr. Diaz-Flores, the ability of the LeviCell technology to accommodate various research focus areas and workflows is shown by improved data quality and streamlined processing across many analytical methods; this enablement includes, but is not limited to:

•       Sequencing (NGS bulk, single-cell)

•       Transfection

•       Tissue dissociation

•       Flow cytometry analysis

•       CRISPR experiments

•       Patient Derived Xenograft (PDX)

•       Drug screens

•       Cell therapeutics research

•       Infectious disease response

•       Gene editing

•       Cell culture

•       Microarray analysis
