A Homework Assignment
Remember that what we call the “General Instructions” (GIs) in rally parlance are really just the rally rules, and a TSD rally is, to a very large degree, a test of the participants’ knowledge of the GIs and their ability to apply them.
The GIs are available on the rally website, right here: The Rally Rules – and we highly encourage you to study them in advance.
Of course, if you're in the tour you've got it made - no homework! You lucky dog.
One more very important thing to do now is to download the Richta Competitor app to your smartphone. We will use this app for scoring again this year. There will be no staffed checkpoints. We'll provide some instruction on the app at the Friday evening meeting, but it will make things run smoother if you already have this app downloaded and functioning on your smartphone.
It would also be helpful if you have a power socket in your rally car so that your smartphone doesn't run out of power during the event. They are simple to install and can be placed unobtrusively up under the dash. Your favorite mechanic can likely easily install one when you take your event car to them for a pre-event check (did you catch the hint in there?).
