It is the month of Thanksgiving!

We are so blessed with each and every one of our alums! All we do at Lexington Catholic is based on the foundation and standards that were set by you and all that you have brought to our school. Where Are They Now?

Jordan Gal ’19 during her senior year at Lexington Catholic had the opportunity to present her senior project “Physical Activity and Glucose Control Among Youth with Type 1 Diabetes” as a part of the Exemplar Scholars Math, Science, and Technology Program.

Now at Clemson University, alongside co-investigators Dr. Michael Riddell (York University), Dr. Steve Willi (CHOP) and Zoey Li (JCHR), she developed this project into a manuscript which was accepted for publication in Pediatric Diabetes and published July 13, 2022. This project titled “Association between high levels of physical activity and improved glucose control on active days in youth with type 1 diabetes” explored the potential association between physical activity level on active days and glucose control in youth with Type 1 Diabetes. Jordan is so thankful to have had the opportunity to collaborate with such outstanding mentors and to finally see all of their hard work in print.

Jordan is a Senior in the Clemson Honors College majoring in Biology.

Tiffany Sirkle ’85 is a Sr. Reinsurance Analyst for TAI & a Traveling Translator (English<>Italian) based in Florida. Tiffany rotates between the 3 continents of North America, South America, and Europe with Rome, Italy as her second home. (Pictured with mother Sharyn Hawkins Sirkle, LCHS Class of 1966)

Robert Schiavone M.D. ’53 - With the escalation of the Vietnam War, the Military was short on physicians. Dr. Schiavone was drafted out of Family Practice and assigned to the U.S Navy. His wife, four children and one on the way joined him upon completion of Basic Training.

Dr. Schiavone's training was conducted at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA. His rank was Lieutenant, and he was the Senior Medical Officer at the base in Dahlgren, VA. This base tested all the ammunition for the fleet, including the 16-inch guns for Battleships. He was given top secret clearance in Chemical, Biological and Radiological Warfare. He was immediately promoted to Lt. Commander.

All of his missions were classified. Robert served his country 1966 – 1968 and was honorably discharged.

Halloween Fun!

Halloween - Remember when you dressed up for Halloween? The tradition continues as much fun was had on Monday, October 31 at Lexington Catholic.

Universal Visit Day

On Friday, November 4, 2022, Lexington Catholic hosted our first Universal Visit Day, presented by Mathnasium! We hosted 200 8th graders on campus. They experienced what Lexington Catholic has to offer, starting their morning with check in, opening prayer, and the Future Knight Assessment. In the afternoon, they went through rotations of gym rec time, a presentation from Mathnasium, and a service project where they drew door decs for hospital room doors. After their rotations, they enjoyed pizza for lunch. To end their day the 8th graders listened to a presentation that reviewed the academic programs here and watched a showcase of the performing arts and athletic teams.

Hall of Fame 2022

The Hall of Fame Induction Dinner was held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, 6:00 PM at Malone’s Prime, Lansdowne.

We had an outstanding class to honor, and we had a wonderful time listening to our speakers. It was a fun night filled with conversation, laughter, good food, and great people. The environment was so warm and full of good feelings. Congratulations again to our inductees listed below! Though Dr. Brandon Devers was unfortunately unable to make the celebration, his father stepped in to accept his trophy on his behalf.

Alumni Weekend Fall 2022

Alumni Weekend for Lexington Catholic - LCHS alumni returned home for their class reunions and the Keeneland Tailgate. Classes of '67, '70, and '92 held their reunions on Friday knight in reserved areas in the school. The reunions were a success as the attendees enjoyed music, food and each other’s company. They had the opportunity to walk the halls of the school and reminisce about their time at Lexington Catholic.

On Saturday, all alumni were invited to The Hill at Keeneland to tailgate before the races began. The tailgate had lively conversation, good food, and much laughter.
