Drama Club Presents "The Laramie Project"
On December 16 and 17, Lexington's Drama Club, under the direction of Jared Lopatin, presented "The Laramie Project."
The play portrayed community reaction to the 1998 beating and death of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The show was performed through a series of monologues and short scenes in which characters expressed their opinions and memories. The production challenged the audience as it examined the concept of being "other" and explored how a community can find hope in the wake of hate. Both the students, and staff voice interpreters, are to be commended for such a spectacular and moving performance!
