Leyline kicked off February by announcing its landmark deal with Momentum Energy Storage Partners. The unique partnership with Momentum is expected to result in the buildout of 2GW of standalone storage and solar+storage projects, which will add significantly to the total capacity of battery storage across the United States. Momentum Partners and co-founders Davion Hill and Ed Rode have a collective 45 years in the renewable energy space with deep technical expertise and a vast network. This experience, combined with Leyline’s financial capabilities and extensive development knowledge, will allow the two companies to take on new storage markets and ultimately move the needle in the fight against climate change.
This month, Leyline CEO Erik Lensch served as a panelist on the Energy Storage Association’s webinar – “Financing Energy Storage Development: Matchmaking in a Rapidly Growing Market.” He spoke with Deanne Barrow, senior associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, and Himanshu Saxena, CEO of Starwood Energy Group, about how developers line up financing – despite the challenges – and how investors decide which energy storage projects should be funded. He also discussed Leyline's new partnership with Momentum Energy Storage Partners and its impact. Click here to learn more.
Leyline also released its Q4 2020 report on racial equity, environmental impact, and social change in February. In Q4, our commitment to continuous improvement can be seen in our three main overlapping focus areas: education, employment, and finance and community partnerships. This quarter was all about amplifying our initiative within the larger renewable energy sector. We expanded our outreach to HBCUs, began work on a more inclusive company hiring policy, formed the first Renewable Energy Externship/Internship at Leyline, participated in a Feed Them Foundation service day, and much more. We look forward to what the rest of this quarter brings, and we would love to partner with you to fight climate change for future generations. Reach out at [email protected] to learn more.
