On October 9, as a court in Massachsetts gathers to consider maintaining "Deferred Enforced Departure" (DED) protections for Liberians, please:
1) PRAY THIS SOLIDARITY PRAYER, by Rev. Edwin Lloyd, Pastor of Whosoever Will Christian Church in Maryland.:
As the Oral Arguments for the the Liberian DED lawsuit begin, we pray that The Almighty God, who is the Creator of all, will guide and control the direction of these proceedings.
We beseech our Lord to insert in the minds of the officiants of the court the words found in Micah 6:8: 'He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.'
It is also our prayer, that as the proceedings unfold, the hearts and minds of all Americans and Christians, together with all faiths, will be filled with love and transparency and mercy. And, we pray that regardless of where the station of our life may be, we will strive to fashion tools to build sanctuaries of joy, peace, and harmony. May the Lord protect the afflicted, and may God's countenance shine upon you. AMEN."
