Hello Christine,

You did What?

I woke up. Stretched and got out of bed. I took off my pajama pants and got my yoga pants ready to put on...an every day event but this day was different because when I picked my foot up and bent over I felt something crank and knew it wasn't good!!! For the next two full days I was laid up with a pain in my back that took my breath away!

In the last newsletter I talked all about going to Acadia National Park (a check on the bucket list). Gary and Sosa and I hiked everywhere, every day. We went swimming and walking a lot! I teach yoga every day and lift weights and consider myself a fit and healthy person and then... It all stopped with one simple move!

I spent one of the "laid up days" crying because in that one brief moment and movement I was out of commission. "I can't stop. I have things to do!" I ruminated. Thanks to our wonderful Liberty Yoga team teachers stepped up to help and substitute classes for me AND... Luckily, I am fit and strong and know that the body is designed to heal and I would. I also knew that I needed to rest. Ice, a tens unit a friend loaned me, a bath, ibuprofen, and on the third day a chiropractic adjustment from a hippie doctor a student referred to me. I even tried Acupuncture for the first time. Today, a week and a half later I am feeling much better.

I share this story to let you know that our health is the most important thing and Yoga is here for you, no matter what you are looking for...healing from a sore back, stress release, community and much more! Read on to find out all of the new and exciting things Liberty Yoga has to offer you!!!

We love our teachers Eleanor, Prithie, Jazmine, and Felicia and we are excited to welcome three incredible new teachers to the Liberty Yoga family: Shelly, Amy, and Savita! Each brings a unique style and passion for yoga that will inspire and elevate your practice. Come meet them in one of our new classes:

  • Inside Flow with Amy: A dynamic class combining yoga with fluid movements and music.
  • Beginner Yoga with Savita: Perfect for those new to yoga or looking to refine their practice.
  • Morning and Stationary Flow with Shelley: Mindful practices focused on breath and alignment.

As we celebrate our 11th year in business, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who have been a part of our journey. Your support and dedication make Liberty Yoga a truly special place. Here’s to many more years of community, growth, and fun on the mat!

The Yoga Sutras!

This whole year we will be exploring The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali to live a Yogic life according to these 196 sutras (short teachings).

In class your teachers will share the Sutras and give you handouts of sheets to explain more (for many of them---not all)
