Hello Christine,
"Happy Exams and Good Luck on Your Birthday!"....
That's what the card my sister, Linda, sent to me when I was nearing the end of the semester at West Chester University and was taking final exams and my birthday was also in the same week! So, funny and clever that card was supposed to read BUT the person at the florist shop saw what my sister wanted to say on the card and thought it must be a mistake so she changed it to read "Happy Birthday and Good Luck on your Exams." Ack! Boring!!! Lol! When I called my sister to thank her for the flowers she asked if I liked the message on the card and I said "Sure. It was fine!" Linda immediately knew the florist didn't get her cunning message.
Do you ever feel misunderstood? Do things you say or others say go right over their / your head? Do you feel under-appreciated or frustrated with the way things were supposed to go but they didn't go as planned?
I have been working on putting my yoga principles into practice in the past two months a lot, while facing frustrating circumstances! My practices are kicking in much more so than usual. I remind myself that "this too shall pass" and everything is impermanent. I remind myself of all of the things I am grateful for about life, health, family, pets, home, job, spirituality, and more. I remember that life is short and we need to make the best of every moment, experience, day, relationship, and joy that arises.
As we navigate life's twists and turns, let's remember the power of understanding, appreciation, and gratitude. Just like the card mix-up my sister experienced, sometimes things don't quite land as intended. But here at Liberty Yoga, we embrace impermanence and find solace in our practice. Together, let's continue to cultivate joy, connection, and resilience. I am so very grateful for our Liberty Yoga space, teachers, special events, fun classes and extra offerings, and especially each and every one of you for making our community the joyful gathering place that it is.
Thank you for being part of our vibrant community.
Namaste.
