"NYC Public Libraries to Open All Remaining Available Locations, Begin a Return to Pre-Pandemic Service in July." - NYPL

UPDATE: District 11 Libraries
The following services for all New York Public Library branches in District 11, with the exception of the Riverdale branch*, are back on Tuesday, July 6:

  • unlimited browsing
  • desktop computer use
  • laptop loan
  • general library use including open seating

Library hours will be back to pre-pandemic hours on Monday, July 19 (with some slight alterations considering current usage patterns). For the most up-to-date hours, go to nypl.org before your visit.

It may take several weeks and months to return to a full schedule of indoor programs and class, but you can keep track of outdoor programs being planned for July here.

Masks remain MANDATORY at all NYPL locations.

The Riverdale Branch was previously set to be open to the public on July 6, but after a walkthrough of the site last Wednesday afternoon, it was determined that it needed more time for minor upgrades. NYPL said it should be expected to open later this coming week or very shortly thereafter.
