Author! Author! Tickets on Sale Now
Season and individual event tickets are now on sale for the 2020 Author! Author! Literary Series. The line-up of bestselling authors includes Barry Lopez (Arctic Dreams), Susan Orlean (The Library Book), and Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma). Series tickets are $75 for general admission, or $210 for premiere seating and invitations to the author receptions. Tickets for individual presentations are $30 per author. The Author! Author! Literary Series is a fundraiser for the Deschutes Public Library Foundation, which raises funds to support library programs and services that are not paid for with tax dollars.
Deschutes Public Library's Next Chapter:
Meet the Architects Who Are Helping Us Grow
Central Oregon experienced immense growth in the first 20 years of the 21st century. It's estimated the county will swell to nearly 215,000 people in 2020--a nearly 85-percent increase in the population from 2000. To prepare for a dynamic next chapter, we invite you to take part in interactive discussions with the library's architects to learn more about the renovation, expansion, and enhancement plans for libraries throughout the county. Free, no registration required.

Check Out the New Privacy Pod in Redmond
If you're at the Redmond Library be sure to check out the soundproof booth we're trying out! The booth has room for one person and is ideal for things like making/taking phone calls, taking part in a virtual job interview, and participating in a webinar. We have a sign-up sheet at the library for short reservations. We're trying this booth out for 60 days to see if it's something the community would want long-term, so be sure to let us know what you think!

Find the Treasure: Geocaches in the Libraries!
Geocaching is a real-world, treasure-hunting game using GPS-enabled devices--and we've hidden geocaches in all of our libraries! The library's geocaches are of the mystery variety, which means there is a short puzzle you need to solve at each location to find the call number for the cache. You won't find these caches listed in the catalog! Learn more about our geocaches, and geocaching in general, on our website. Be sure to tag us on Instagram or Facebook (@deschuteslibrary) if you find the treasure!
