Library News
New Programs this Winter

We are excited to announce new Zoom programming coming to the library this winter! In January we welcome licensed tour guides and self-proclaimed New York City experts, Art and Susan Zimmerman who will take us on a tour of The Secret Museums of New York! There are over 190 museums in New York City. This presentation will highlight many of the lesser known and more unusual ones. Find out about the abandoned elevator shaft that is now a museum, some of the elegant mansions that have been converted to museums and many more!

In February, Art and Sue will return and take us on a culinary tour of the famous Foods of New York! Have you ever wondered how Nathan’s hot dogs became an American staple, why pizza is red, white and green, how immigrants preserved their foods without refrigeration? This presentation will answer these questions and many others. You don't have to be a "foodie" to enjoy this program!

In February, we kick off a 3-part Health and Wellness series partnering with New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, focusing on Heart Health, Food and Nutrition, and Meditation and Relaxation. What a great way to start the new year!

In March, writer, lecturer, auctioneer and " home down-sizing expert" Mike Ivankovich will present Downsizing: Your Children don't Want it. What can you do? We hear it every day. “My Children Don’t Want It. What Can I Do?” And it’s happening all over America. Parents are moving and their kids don't want the stuff! In this session Mike gives us 15 tips and strategies designed to help you deal with your stuff and hopefully help you make some money when selling it.
