Children's Summer Reading Game

Join us for our 2022 Children's Summer Reading Game! This year’s theme is Oceans of Possibilities. 
To participate, sign up on our Events page and create an account on READsquared at eastchesterlibraryny02.readsquared.com  Registration begins on June 13th. See our website for a full list of Summer Reading Game programs and for the participation rules. This program is for children who can read independently.

Don't forget our Read-to-Me Game for those who are not yet reading independently. This is a great way for parents and caregivers to connect with young children and encourage a love of reading together!

Explore "Oceans of Possibilities" with our Teen Summer Reading Game. Sign up! Track your progress! Enter to win prizes and a qualify for our Grand Prize Raffle! Go to our eventkeeper page to register and create your Teen ReadSquared account.

Points can be earned by reading and attending our Teen Tuesday Summer Reading Programs! We have five special ocean-themed craft programs scheduled for this summer including Beach in a Bottle, Ocean Cupcakes and a beach inspired earring workshop!

Join us for snacks and fun at our kick-off party on Tuesday, June 28th at 3:00 pm. We will screen the new film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore beginning at 3:30pm. PG-13. Registration required.
Adult Summer Reading Game

Sail off on "Oceans of Possibilities" with this year's Summer Reading Game! The rules and a complimentary reading log will be available at the Reference Desk upon registration. Bingo game cards are now available for pick up! Check out our recommended reading list and our library display located in the front reading
area for inspiration! 
Strength Conditioning with Lisa
Tuesday, June 28th at 9:30 am

This class focuses on strength conditioning and combines non-impact conditioning, flexibility and core drills. Registration required to receive Zoom information.
Pirates Lost at Sea with Talewise
Wednesday, June 29th at 6:00 pm

Ahoy there, matey! Set sail with us on a thrilling action-packed adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island.

Throughout the story, we’ll explore the incredible science behind clouds, physical and chemical changes, air pressure, and more! Volunteers from the audience will help us conduct several hands-on science experiments that ‘ARRR’ sure to amaze you!

Don’t miss your chance to experience this interactive nautical tale — with a refreshing splash of science! For grades K-5. Registration required!
Music Fest with Kurt Gallagher
Thursday, June 30th at 11:00 am

We are happy to welcome our favorite musician Kurt Gallagher back this summer with his high-voltage, fully-charged humor and musical fest. For ages 2-5. Registration required.
Friday Film Series: Jaws
Friday, July 1st at 1:30 pm

Relive the terror all over again with this film classic that forever changed the way we all felt about a carefree day at the beach! When a killer shark unleashes on beach community on Long Island, it is up to a local sheriff, a marine biologist and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down. 2 hours and 4 minutes. Rated PG.

The Friends Book Sale Room is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 3:00 pm and the first Saturday of every month from noon to 3:00 pm.

Please note: The book sale room will be closed Saturday, July 2nd and Tuesday, July 5th.
