Library Hours for the Week of May 28th


EPL will be closed on Sunday, May 28th & Monday, May 29th in honor of Memorial Day. The library will be open however on Saturday, May 27th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.


Construction on the upper entrance of the building is scheduled to begin (subject to weather conditions) on Tuesday, May 30th. Due to the nature of the work, library hours will be affected. Please check next week’s news blast or call the library before you plan to visit.

Featured Program

Parenting Series Workshop

Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:00 pm


If you missed part one of our three-part parenting workshop series, you missed an enlightening program! Parenting has never been easy but parenting in our post-COVID environment presents unique challenges. Join us for the remaining workshops and learn helpful skills for parenting in today's changing world.


Parenting: One Step at a Time will take place on Wednesday, May 24th at 7:00 pm  Hands-on parenting techniques will we be discussed. Add to your “toolbox” with skills to encourage desired behaviors and see more positive outcomes in the future. Registration required for this in-person program.


Our presenter for this series is Caitlin Leon, a Licensed Master Social Worker from Westchester Jewish Community Services. 


The final program in this series will take place on Wednesday, June 14th at 7:00 pm.

Irish and Italian Immigration to the

Town of Eastchester

Sunday, May 21st at 2:00 pm


Town Historian Richard Forliano will discuss the immigration of Irish and Italians to Eastchester NY, their contributions to society and the impact on the local community. Registration is requested but not required. Seating is limited so come early!

Book Art Program: Spring Purse

Monday, May 22nd at 7:00 pm


Create your own spring purse out of a recycled book! Use it to store your stuff or as a fancy gift box! Registration required for this in-person program.


EPL is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Book Art Competition coming in September 2023! Our 1st Annual Book Art Competition took place in 2019 prior to the pandemic. There will be categories for children, teens and adults so put on your thinking caps and start looking for ideas! Our staff will be happy to offer advice and guidance. Look for more details in an upcoming news blast.

Adult and Teen Yoga (Zoom)

Monday, May 22nd at 7:30 pm


This half hour yoga class meets online using Zoom. Online registration is required to receive the meeting number and password.


Limber Up Chair Yoga (Zoom)

Tuesday, May 23rd at 11:15 am


The 30-minute class includes seated and standing exercises with the support of a chair. Registration required to receive the Zoom link.

Teen Improv Workshop

Tuesday, May 22nd at 4:00 pm


Have you or someone you know been bitten by the acting bug? Improv is acting without a script. In this interactive workshop, Ellen Flaks, a popular Westchester Improv Specialist will help us create original characters and scenes and teach us to act our hearts out! No experience necessary. Registration required for this in-person program.

Knit Wit

Wednesday, May 24th 4:00 pm


Learn how to knit with Marissa. This week we will be knitting and chatting. Registration is required to attend this in-person program.

Battle of the Books

General Interest Meeting

Thursday, May 25th at 4:00 pm


Battle of the Books is a book-based trivia tournament for Westchester youth entering grades 4-12 in September of 2023. The goal of the program is to promote a love of reading, to expose kids to new titles and authors and to inspire teamwork in an atmosphere of friendly competition.


The Tournament will take place in-person on Saturday, October 21, 2023, all-day at Ossining High School. Practice sessions leading up to the tournament will begin in August. Register here to attend our information session and to learn more about this exciting program. Please note, you are still able to participate in BOB without attending this meeting!

Friday Film: Spoiler Alert

Friday, May 26th at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm


Based on Michael Ausiello's best-selling memoir, 'Spoiler Alert' is a heartwarming, funny and life-affirming story of how Michael and Kit's relationship is transformed and deepened when one of them falls ill. Rated PG-13. 1 hr. 52 mins. This film will be shown at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm.

Calling Local Artists!


Interested in being part of a group art show? We have received inquiries from artists who would like to exhibit their pieces but do not have an extensive collection.

This August, we will organize a group exhibit where individuals can display 3 or 4 pieces. Please call the library or email us for more information.


The Library continues to accept applications from local artists who wish to display at least ten of their original art works in our downstairs Rashkoff Room/Auditorium.

Our popular Book Sale Room is now only open from 12-3 on Tuesdays, Fridays

and on the first Saturday of each month. Additional volunteers would allow us to expand book sale hours. No experience is necessary!
