Chamlins Concert via ZOOM

Teen Break-in Bag

Can you crack the code? Think “Escape Room,” except instead of trying to break out, you’re trying to break in! Solve three puzzles to find the numeric code that will open the lock and free your loot! Registration required to reserve your bag! This is a program you will do on your own time! Open to grades 6th-12th
Outdoor Mother Goose Time

Ms. Teresa will be on our outdoor Reading Patio this Tuesday for a fun and engaging Mother Goose Time! November sessions will be added if weather permits. 

For ages 2-3. Space is limited, please register for both the caregivers and child/children. Sign up once for the entire series of programs through October 26th.
Limber Up Chair Yoga

Join teacher Diane Negvesky for “Limber Up Chair Yoga” this Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. In addition to her zoom classes for the library, Ms. Negvesky also teaches at the Rye YMCA and leads classes and fitness instruction at The Osborn in Rye.

The 30 minute class includes seated and standing exercises with the support of a chair. Registration required for each class to receive ZOOM information
Fall Preschool Storytime via Zoom

Ms. Teresa will host a fun and engaging Zoom preschool storytime featuring beloved picture books from our eBook collection! Seasonal crafts will be included monthly.

This program is for ages 3-5. Sign up is required via email to Please include your child's name and age in the message. Sign up once for the entire series of programs through December 14th.
Mystery Club

Join us for a discussion of Linda Barnes' A Trouble of Fools. This initial entry in the long-running Carlotta Carlyle series introduces the ex-cop turned P.I. who knows trouble when she sees it. This time out, Carlotta goes undercover to investigate the disappearance of a Boston cabbie.

Newbery Challenge

Are you in Grades 3 - 6? Do you love to read? Do you enjoy talking about books, and trivia? Our Newbery Challenge may be for you! Click here to see our flyer. We will read a total of eight books that could be worthy of the 2022 Newbery Medal.

Tentative program dates: Wednesdays 10/6, 10/20, 11/3, 11/17, 12/1, 12/15, 1/5, 1/19 at 3:45 pm. We are planning a hybrid program where each date may be attended on Zoom or in-person.

At each meeting, we will discuss what makes a Newbery winner (i.e., Setting, Characters, Plot, Style) and whether the books we've read met those criteria. We will also have trivia using

Teen Bake Along via ZOOM

Make your own hand held apple pies using the following ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 3 apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 3 tablespoons of white sugar

The Friends of the Eastchester Public Library are looking for volunteers to work in the book sale room. If you have a few hours available, give us a call! The book sale room is currently open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Online Museum Pass Reservation System!

The library has just launched its new user-friendly website! Whether you visit to register for a program, find your newest eBook, 
read a magazine, or watch a streaming video you’ll easily find all you need right
at your fingertips! 

While on our website, check out our new online museum pass reservation system. The link to the system is featured prominently on our main page and allows patrons to reserve museum passes up to one month in advance. Our new reservation system includes a link to the museum and its exhibits as well as important information regarding current COVID policies in place at each institution.

All you need to reserve a museum pass online is your library card number and your password. Museum passes circulate for three days and are limited to one pass at one time per family. If you are a Friend of the Library who lives outside of the Town of Eastchester, just call the library and we will make the reservation for you.
