Join us for the Big Read: NTID featuring Ilya Kaminsky

Gates Public Library is hosting this year's Big Read: NTID with author Ilya Kaminsky in collaboration with RIT/NTID, National Endowment for the Arts and Monroe County Library System! Events explore the themes of language, power, and community in Deaf Republic, spotlights the history of deaf poetry in the United States, and encourages people from diverse backgrounds to experiment with poetry as a means of expressing their own experiences of language, power, and community.

Join us this Saturday, April 1 from 5:00PM - 6:30PM to meet the Ilya Kaminsky. A reception will follow with refreshments and a book signing. Books, provided by the NEA grant, will continue to be available at the front desk.
