A poet in love with wild places, Nancy Takacs is the inaugural Poet Laureate of Helper City, Utah, and her book 
The Worrier received the Juniper Prize.

the love of water in its many forms,
and our concern with drought.

The Library Book Bike Rides Again!
Look for us at Arts & Ag at Swanny Park (shade! cool, green grass!) on May 5th.
The library's Book Bike will be there to represent, offering free books, wifi and cheerful vibes.
Arts & Ag (formerly called the Market on Center) will be held at Swanny Park on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays from May through October, 5 pm to dusk.

Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test
The library has free Covid-19 tests for you to take home! These quick and easy kits provide results in 15 minutes.
One box per person, while supplies last.

Summer Challenges for all ages!

All Ages Reading Challenge
April 1st-May 31st
It's not too late to join the challenge!

Put some spring in your step and get reading! Log your reading to earn new colorful spring badges all month long. Ready, set, bloom!

To complete the challenge read whatever you want for a total of 8 hours or more between April 1st and May 31st 2022. We have registration and completion rewards for all ages.

Logging minutes is super easy using our Reading Challenge Website or app (see app directions at end of email).

Based on the Every Child Ready to Read® practices of reading, writing, singing, talking, playing, and counting, this challenge contains one super easy-to-implement learning activity for each day in April. Activities include recommended books and nursery rhymes. Caregivers will learn simple and fun ways to help prepare their child to be ready to learn how to read and succeed when they start school!

To complete this challenge, children and their caregiver(s) will complete 12 or more early learning activities of their choice and read together for 4 or more hours between May 1st-31st. Logging activities and minutes is easy using our Reading Challenge Website or app.

Children/caregivers who register for this challenge will receive a gently used picture book and participants who complete the challenge may pick a reward from our early learning treasure box!
