Free IGI Community Lunches

This summer the Edgartown Library is partnering with IGI to offer free lunches Mondays through Fridays starting at 11am. Vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options will also be available. Lunches are first come, first served. All Island families are welcome to receive free lunch and no documentation or proof of income is required.

Many beach-loving medicinals can be found in the sandy soils of Cape Cod and the Islands, and we'll explore their many unique characteristics and medicinal qualities. Jade Alicandro is a clinical herbalist located in Shutesbury, MA. She holds a B.S. in Plant Biology and a B.S in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Join us every first and third Wednesday of the month through December for a professional networking forum conducted in a safe and comfortable environment that's conducive to developing new relationships and developing skills and strategies to help in your career transition. Meetings include a presentation and hands-on workshop on topics relevant to career transition, guest speakers, access to hiring managers, small group breakout rooms to network, and one-on-one coaching guidance. There will be a new topic covered in each session.

Art Exhibit and Reception: Photographer Bruce Mathews

Join us for a reception and to meet photographer Bruce Mathews. As a year-round resident of Martha’s Vineyard, Bruce focuses on themes from the natural world, searching for the same abstract values that informed his previous work as a commercial photographer. In his floral series, he often treats his subjects as still-life objects more akin to pressed flowers than to those rooted in a garden.

My People: Five Decades of Writing about Black Lives showcases decades of reporting that stretches from Hunter-Gault's time as a reporter for The New York Times to her career at PBS's "NewsHour", which she joined in 1978. From the Civil Rights movement through the election and inauguration of America's first Black president and beyond, this invaluable collection shows the breadth of the Black experience through trials, tragedies, and triumphs in their everyday lives.

Beach BeFrienders Beach Cleanup at South Beach

Beach BeFrienders is a collaboration between the Vineyard Conservation Society, Island Libraries, Island Departments of Public Works, and the MV Refuse District, and is dedicated to tending our beloved Island beaches.
Join us every fourth Saturday to clean up an Island beach. Dairy Queen ice cream coins are offered to participating children under 12. Beach BeFriender official cleanup kits are available at the library, and disposal is free at any Island transfer station. Click here for more details.

Inkjet Cartridge Recycling Program | |
Support our local Vineyard League by recycling ink jet cartridges. The League of Women Voters of Martha’s Vineyard has drop boxes for collecting used printer inkjet cartridges in all six towns, including at the Edgartown Library. Cartridges are sent to a recycler, keeping them out of landfills. Please note, inkjet cartridges are the only kind that can be accepted.
