As part of our year-long REACT series, we are offering Chelmsford not one, but two One Book titles this year! First, we're thrilled to welcome author and educator  Clint Smith.  Join us in reading his volume of poetry, Counting Descent, then come and hear him speak on  January 28 We'll also be reading  The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, with copies available following Clint Smith's talk,  and then screening the film adaptation in April !

Join us as we explore six key issues that most impact our community and society as a whole, through engaging programming, in-depth, moderated discussions, films, readings, and quality resources. Project Linus
Welcome to The Service Club, where you'll be able to earn drop-in volunteer hours on a project to benefit the community!  This month, we'll make no-sew fleece blankets for Project Linus, an organization that distributes blankets to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug!

There are snowmen-- and picture books about snowmen-- hiding in the library!  Find them all and you'll receive a prize!  Come to the children's desk to begin your quest; we'll have hints to help you, and a checklist so you know what to look for.  Drop in for ages 5 and up.

Project Nature: Wild about Turtles

Turtle Do turtles have teeth? How many kinds of turtles live in the USA?  Mary the Turtle Lady will answer these and many other turtle questions!  We'll meet some live turtles, read a story, learn a song, and maybe do a craft, too!  Drop in for ages 6 and up.

New Years Join us for a slightly early countdown to 2019!  We'll read a New Year's story, make some New Year's crafts, have some snacks, and maybe do some dancing, too!

Join the Friends to become more involved in your public library and to make new friends! The Friends meet on the first Thursday of each month (Except January!) at 7:00 p.m. in the McCarthy Meeting Room at the library.  There's always something going on at the Library. Come learn how you can be part of it!

This year's Make Your Impact Campaign will focus on community outreach - On the Move with CPL. With your help, we will fund a mobile Pop-up Library van that will visit schools, playgrounds, senior housing, farmer's markets and community events.

Our Make Your Impact campaign kicked off on November 27th, 2018, as part of the nation-wide "Giving Tuesday" movement. Get the wheels rolling and make your donation now!

The Friends of the Library helped pass a huge benchmark with a donation of $15,000!
