News on Conway Public Library Holds

Dear Conway Library Patrons,

In an effort to better protect the privacy of our library users, a valid library card or other sufficient form of identification will be required to pick-up items placed on hold starting June 1st.

Holds will only be checked out to the person whose name is on the library account from which the request was made. If you have a spouse, family member, or other person you would like to pick-up holds on your behalf, they will be allowed to do so if you send them with your physical library card. You can also pre-authorize specific individuals by asking a library staff member to add their name to your account as a designated borrower.

With regard to minors (0-17 years), the cardholder and only the parent/guardian who registered the minor for a library card, thereby assuming responsibility for the items checked out on it, will be given information pertaining to the minor's account. Parents should speak with a library staff member to verify that they are listed as a guarantor on their child's account.

Giving Books, Movies, or Music

Donate your books to Conway Public Library! Bring us your new or gently used books, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, and jigsaw puzzles. Unfortunately, we cannot accept certain donations.

Please see our Item Donation Guidelines for detailed information. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us at 603.447.5552.

Donated materials may be added to our collection if they meet the library's collection development standards. When a donation doesn't fit our collection, the Friends of the Library step in. They generously fund new materials and other projects from the proceeds of their book sales, showing how every donation, no matter how big or small, is integral to our operations.

Some of your donated items find a home in the Little Free Library, a community-driven initiative where you can “take a book, return a book.” The first Little Free Library was placed at Conway Lake, and the second is on the porch at Leavitt’s Bakery in Conway, NH, fostering a sense of community and shared love for reading.
