SSPL prints limited quantities of our Program Guide, which covers two months of programming at a time. This option is for those who wish to have a physical document highlighting our offerings. Mango is an online language-learning system that teaches actual conversation skills for 42 different languages. Simply use your library card to access Mango here. And don't forget to visit your device's app store for the free on-the-go learning app!

PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
Storm King Art Center's Nora Lawrence
Discusses Wangechi Mutu's New Exhibition
Nora Lawrence, chief curator and artistic director of Storm King Art Center, presents on the work of Wangechi Mutu in this our July 20th online program. Sculptor, film maker, and performance artist Mutu, a native of Kenya, expresses her concern for human rights and the planet’s ecosystems through her earth-based works. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in our post-presentation Q&A Session. Please register online through this link.
Storm King Art Center is a 500 acre outdoor art park in New Windsor, NY, famous for its presenting work by newer artists like Ms. Mutu and Sarah Sze, as well as for holdings by such icons as Louise Bourgeois and Henry Moore. Nora Lawrence, appointed as chief curator of Storm King in November of 2021, is the first to hold the title of artistic director.

PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
West African Drumming for Teens & Adults
Participate in an invigorating drum circle! No experience necessary! Chelsie Henderson of Rural Soul Music Studio will teach basic authentic rhythms and movements in the West African tradition. Drums are provided and can be borrowed by participants for the duration of the program. Take your drum home to practice! This is a 4 part series that will take place Fridays, July 8 - 29, 10-11 p.m. Registration and participation for the complete series are required, and can be done through this link.

English for Spanish Speakers
(Ingles para hispanohablantes)
Join our in-person English class for native Spanish speakers beginning on July 11th! Learn from an experienced teacher who is fluent in both Spanish and English, and a native speaker of Spanish. Students are asked to try to attend all classes and complete assignments. For dates, times, and registration information, visit this link.

Summer Reading 2022 at Your Library

The library is open seven days a week and indoor seating is available. Current hours of operation are Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. | Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. | Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. | Sunday: Noon - 5 p.m.

Over the last two years, our librarians and presenters from a great many Saratoga Springs community organizations have been diligently working to produce online content for our YouTube channel. We're showcasing everything from children's story times, crafts, community conversations with local non-profits, book talks, gardening, travel, local history, art, tech tutorials, and so much more! As we continue with online programming, additional videos are added all the time, so please check out what's currently available and/or subscribe through the link below.
