Let the librarians of the East Providence Public Library help you find books to cozy up with this winter. We can hand select titles for you available on our shelves. American Red Cross: Pillowcase Project Tuesday, February 23rd at 3:30pm Kids in grades 3-5 are invited to this interactive workshop to learn about how to be prepared for the emergency of a home fire.

Make Your Own Video Game Wednesday, February 24th at 3:30pm Kids age 7+ are invited to join us virtually for this Rhode Island Computer Museum workshop. This is a great chance to put down your controllers, dive into learning the interactive "Scratch" software, and create your very own video game sample.

Take and Make: Snowmen Friends Thursday, February 25th at 3:30pm Have some fun with these snowmen friends! Pick up this craft kit at Weaver Library starting Monday, February 22nd. Make it on your own or with Miss Sharon and other kids on Zoom. No registration required but supplies are limited. First come, first served.

Happy Heart Cooking Series 2nd of 3 sessions Thursday, February 25th at 6:00pm Treat your heart to this virtual cooking series that will put you on a healthy path in 2021. Longtime cook, Kathi, will lead this series, focusing on a different theme each session.

Acrylic Painting for Kids Series 2nd of 3 sessions Friday, February 26th at 3:30pm Kids age 7+ are invited to paint along with us! We'll explore a new technique during each meeting of this 3 week series. From finger painted fruit to landscapes, kids will enjoy this relaxing medium and the opportunity to get creative with paint!

Questions on some of the different features that are available? Join us to learn how to use Zoom. You do not need a Zoom account or an app to attend this virtual event.

Social Media Basics via Zoom Saturday, February 27th at 1:00pm Introductory conversations about Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and networking in the social media age. Topics include creating profiles, sharing content, navigating sites, and maximizing platform tools.

1:1 Tech Help via Zoom Saturday, February 27th between 2:00-4:00pm Questions about computers, eReaders, apps, managing mobile devices, digital security or personal privacy? Join librarian Jason for East Providence Public Library’s Virtual Tech Help! Registration is required, and all sessions will be 30 minutes in duration and conducted over Zoom.

Computer Sessions by Appointment Call to schedule a 30 minute appointment for a 10am, noon or 3pm time slot. Please limit your computer sessions to twice per week. Assistance will be very limited. Think you'll need extra help? You may bring someone from your household to assist you. Need something printed? We can do that! The RI Foundation is now accepting applications for the Martin Luther King scholarship which provides funds for students. Applicants must be: African American/Black; RI resident; accepted or enrolled in an accredited post-secondary college or technical school within the United States. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need and academic and leadership success. Deadline for application submission is April 12.

Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless is seeking art submissions! Deadline: Friday, March 5th, 2021 Artist of the chosen design will receive a thank you basket from the Coalition that includes professional art supplies generously donated by BLICK.
