Southwick Zoomobile presents "Intro to Animal Ecology" a program that discusses animal traits, environments and interactions. This program is for all ages, and includes a visit with several live animals.Registration is not required. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. In the case of inclement weather, this event will be postponed.

2021 Summer Service Project Series

Join us this summer as we make a variety of items that will be donated to the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Create toys, blankets, and more for the shelter animals in their care and earn community service hours! This program is open to East Providence residents entering grades 6-12 in the fall.

Adults are invited to cook along with us using the East Providence Library's newest programming vehicle-- the Charlie Cart kitchen on wheels! Participants will prepare this quick and nutritious dish with a delicious peanut sauce. Best of all, there is no cooking involved--perfect for summer! Registration is required.

Through Me to You Puppetry invites you to join Newton and his puppet friends for some storytime fun! Newton and his friends take turns reading stories and singing songs with the kids.

Books are Back at the Farmers Market

Come to the pop-up book sale at the Weaver Library Farmers Market every Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The Friends of the East Providence Public Library will offer hard and soft cover books for $1. Young adult and childrens' books and are $.50 each. All children are welcome to choose free soft cover books to take home. Adults can take home a complimentary soft cover cookbook to try out new recipes with Farmers Market fresh produce and other offerings. To help you get a head start on holiday crafts, the July book sales will also include Christmas-in-July how-to-do books on hand-crafted gifts, decorations and ornaments. Proceeds from the book sale benefit library programs, including museum passes, special concerts and events.
