New Book Spotlight

The Anomaly, by Hervé Le Tellier

First let me say that I am not a sci fi fan and might have skipped this novel except that it is a best seller in France and won the Prix Goncourt in 2021. This novel blends crime, fantasy, sci-fi, and thriller as it plumbs the mysteries surrounding a Paris-New York flight. Getting on an airplane is always exciting and those of us who remember the Twilight Zone will enjoy the entertainment this book amply provides. I wonder if it is truly so absurd?

“Rescue, Recovery, Remembrance"

The Ivoryton Library is proud to support the Essex Historical Society 's three-part series

The final session of the series, "Remembrance," will take place in person Sunday, April 10 at 3:00pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 109 Main St in Centerbrook. Residents will be asked to share their stories about rescue and recovery efforts in a ‘pass the mic’ format. Our panel discussions provided a high overview to the event, so EHS, Ivoryton Library and Essex Land Trust are eager to hear YOUR flood experiences to learn more about this life-changing event during this anniversary year.  Please be advised that the presentation will be recorded. Free and open to the public.
