New Book Spotlight

good left undone.jpg

The Good Left Undone is a sweeping tale of multi generations of the Cabrelli women of Tuscany, with travels from France to Scotland. A new book from Adriana Trigiani means setting time aside to curl up and indulge. And be sure to visit her website for recipes inspired by her books.

Rebecca Roanhorse describes herself as a “writer of speculative fiction and other stuff.” Fevered Star is her latest, a sequel to 2020’s Black Sun. We return to The Meridian: a land where magic has been codified and the worship of gods suppressed. How do you live when legends come to life, and the faith you had is rewarded? Roanhorse has also written for Marvel Comics and for television, and had projects optioned by Amazon Studios, Netflix, and Paramount TV.

4000 days.jpg

Four Thousand Days is the first in a planned series by MJ Trow, the author of several series set in various time periods. Four Thousand Days introduces mystery readers to Dr. Margaret Murray, the first woman to be appointed as a lecturer in archaeology in the United Kingdom, at University College London. When the body of one of her students is discovered in her rented room shortly after attending one of her lectures, she is disinclined to accept the official verdict of suicide and determines to find out how and why the girl really died.

Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson

  • Black Cake is a beautifully written debut literary fiction with a through-line of mystery. It raises questions of identity, history, secrets and inheritance. Taking the reader from the Caribbean in the 1960s to present day California, the story is driven by strong and resilient female characters. Black cake is the vehicle for family connection and culture across time and generations.
