Martha and I were excited to see so many of you gathered together in Oshkosh for the License Renewal Conference. It was a busy, educational and transformative weekend. We were able to talk to many of you individually and hear your thoughts and gather input through our sticky note survey. Thank you to those of you who participated.
The question we posed for the survey was: “What changes would you like to see in the massage profession?”
Overwhelmingly the response centered around wanting cross state or national licensing. The interstate compact legislation has come a long way in recent years and The AMTA-WI Board has voted to support this legislation to include Wisconsin in this compact. Our Government Relations committee may be planning a lobby day in Madison in the next few months and will be looking for volunteers to help talk to legislators. Watch for updates from that committee. Other responses from the survey were about adding modalities such as stretching, corrective exercise and dry needling to our scope of practice.
February 16th all AMTA delegates will participate in a virtual open house. We hope to learn new ways to help benefit members through our role in the Chapter. Martha and I will share with you new updates from National as they become available.
As always - if you have any thoughts or ideas, we will make sure your voice is heard.
