We've gotten off to a fast start serving as Georgia's Lieutenant Governorand I wanted to take a minute to share some of the exciting updates with you.

On January 12th, 2023, I was officially sworn in as the 13th Lieutenant Governor of the great state of Georgia. It was a humbling and surreal moment, and I'm so grateful for the support of family, friends and supporters like you who helped make it possible.
On January 25th, Governor Brian Kemp gave his State of the State address. I had the honor of addressing the joint session of the General Assembly and introducing our great Governor to deliver his remarks. In his speech, the Governor outlined his priorities to boost our economy, lower costs, strengthen public safety and improve education and healthcare across our state. I look forward to working with the Governor throughout this legislative session to accomplish our shared priorities and continue making our state the best place to live, work and raise a family.

Last month, I also had the privilege of speaking at the Georgia Chamber's Annual Eggs & Issues forum, where I discussed some of our legislative priorities and outlined our agenda for the upcoming session. If you didn't get the chance to attend in person, click HERE or below to watch the recap:

I also recently had the opportunity to address a packed room of conservatives at the annual Faith & Freedom Legislative Breakfast. I was so inspired to see so many friends, old and new, uniting around our shared conservative principles. I will always defend our freedoms, the Constitution, and our Georgia values as your Lieutenant Governorand we will fight every day to defend them from the extreme policies of the far-left.

Check out some of the highlights and coverage on our legislative policy proposals and agenda from the first month. As you can see, we've hit the ground running to lower costs, crack down on violent criminals and restore law and order to our streets, expand workforce opportunities, and boost foster care and healthcare systems across our state. Our work is just beginningand we're going to work hard every day and deliver on our campaign promises to make our state the best in the country.

Capitol Beat News Service: New Lieutenant Governor Outlines Goals

"Newly elected Lt. Gov. Burt Jones says he is 'laser focused' on the well-being of Georgians.

The Jackson Republican and businessman ran for lieutenant governor after a decade as a state senator because he wanted a new challenge and thought he could help ordinary Georgians, Jones told Capitol Beat this week.

'I saw an opportunity to lower our state income tax to put more money back into the pockets of hardworking Georgians, empower parents and teachers, and to make our communities safer.'”

Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Burt Jones charts his course as Georgia’s new No. 2

"How Jones leads the Senate chamber will shape the state’s future. So far, the new lieutenant governor is sticking to consensus-driven themes that Gov. Brian Kemp and House Speaker Jon Burns have also embraced.

'We’ve got to improve our workforce development and help drive more economic opportunities and growth to the state,' he said. 'We’ve had a lot of success in the last 10 years, and we need to continue that success.'"
From myself, Jan, Stella, Banks, and our entire family, thank you for your friendship and continued support. We look forward to seeing you soon!

God bless,
Burt Jones
