Creativity, Connection, and Real-World Impact

January has been a powerful reminder of what makes Da Vinci Schools distinctive: learning that is creative, connected, and rooted in real-world impact. Across our schools, students are designing, building, exhibiting, questioning, performing, and collaborating in ways that bring their learning to life and extend far beyond the classroom.

From transforming a car into a moving work of art, to using creative expression to advocate for ocean conservation, to demystifying AI and imagining future careers in medicine, our students continue to show what’s possible when curiosity meets purpose.

Excitement and Creativity Drive the Da Vinci Design Art Car Project

Da Vinci Design students are bringing imagination, design, and engineering to life through the Art Car project, an ambitious initiative that transforms a vehicle into a rolling work of art. Last week, the Career Technical Education (CTE) Lab buzzed with activity as the Art Car Build Site welcomed Da Vinci community partners Otis College of Art and Design, legendary Hot Wheels and toy designer Bryan Benedict, and other VIP visitors.

From Classroom to Gallery: Students Amplify Their Voices Through Art

This January, Da Vinci Connect Core 5 student artwork was on public display at El Camino College, showcasing their first-semester interdisciplinary project, Revive the Reef. Students transformed their learning into powerful art and advocacy, amplifying their voices beyond the classroom. We’re excited to share photos from the exhibition, celebrating these young changemakers and their exploration of the beauty, importance, and fragility of coral reefs.

There’s still one more opportunity to experience the artwork in person! Join us at AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles on Saturday, January 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Learning Together, Healing Together: RISE Students and Future Doctors Share Stories and Paths Forward

Da Vinci RISE High welcomed medical students from the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine to its A Place Called Home campus in South Los Angeles on Jan. 26 for a morning of collaborative learning, reflection, and career exposure.

Da Vinci Students Demystify AI: Learning, Building, and Creating Chatbots in the Classroom

At Da Vinci Schools, the future is now as students dive deep into the world of artificial intelligence (AI) through hands-on, creative workshops that reveal the math and logic behind the technology shaping our daily lives.

Designing for Success: Da Vinci Educators Align on Instructional Supports

Earlier this month, educators from across Da Vinci Schools came together for a full day of professional learning focused on instructional supports and high-quality project-based learning. Educators met in job-alike teams—math teachers with math teachers, English with English, special education with special education, and more—to align on a common set of instructional supports all students can expect across Da Vinci.

From the Courts to the Fields: January Athletics Update

January was a month of growth, resilience, and celebration across Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletics. From team victories and well-earned senior recognitions to continued development across every program, our WDV Wolves student-athletes competed with pride, determination, and heart—representing Wiseburn Da Vinci with excellence on and off the field.

We also proudly celebrate the opening of the new field behind Da Vinci Connect TK-8, now serving as a practice home for WDV Wolves Baseball, a play space for our Connect students, and a shared resource benefiting the entire Wiseburn community.
