Keeping faith with democracy

We hold these truths to be self-evident ... Retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer delighted Plainfield, NH listeners with his reading of the Declaration of Independence following the town's Fourth of July parade this year.

Produced by JAM's Kate Barber and Drew Boyce

Mad malady

The Parish Players recently premiered Proxy, a new play by retired DHMC surgeon Kenneth Burchard and directed by Norwich family therapist Hetty Thomae. The drama tackles Munchausen syndrome by proxy, in which a parent induces illness in a child even unto death. The cast included locals Brenda Danielson, Nicole Marie Moreno Gaines, Ellen Houlden, Hollie Ketterer, Tera Monroe Murray, Chelsea Paige, and Michele Perkins.

Produced by JAM's Rick Russell and Jan Abbott.

No way out

"We live in heavy times and still keep going. We live in a failing economy and are trying to survive every day," says Nathan Hale, lead singer of the Vermont band Dead Street Dreamers. Formed during the 2021 lockdown, the punk band rocked out last month at the Main Street Museum.

Produced by JAM.
