Alumnae Living Out Mercy's Mission

Veronica Aguirre '04 was the guest speaker at Mercy’s Earth Day Assembly on May 3. Veronica works as a Utilities Project Manager at the Presidio Trust, the federal agency with primary jurisdictional authority of the Presidio of San Francisco. She’s the only Civil/Environmental Engineer in the agency managing the water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain utility infrastructure for the entire Presidio. She is also the primary engineer for the Presidio Water Treatment Plant, the second oldest water treatment plant in California. Before the Presidio, she worked for years in the private consultant and construction industry on projects around the SF Bay Area from the environmental cleanup of Hunters Point Shipyard to the geotechnical stabilization of Telegraph Hill.
We were so honored to have her share about her engineering work experience and obvious love for the Critical Concern of Earth with the next generation of aspiring young ladies at her alma mater where her interest in science and engineering began!
|
|
Sunny Hibbits '17 and
Joivenae Uribe '18 gave back to their alma mater this week by joining us for the
Transition to College workshop where they spoke on the college student panel and shared their wisdom about what to expect in college. The workshop helps prepare seniors for college by educating them on academic expectations, social issues, self-exploration, and more!

|
How do you live out Mercy’s mission every day?
What values from Mercy are you bringing to your community? How do you address the critical concerns of the Sisters of Mercy—volunteering in your church community, donating time to the homeless, assisting as a mentor, advocating for the marginalized and disenfranchised?
We want to share your “Mercy” to inspire others to do the same!
Please share your story for
Mercy In Our World by emailing Georgia Wasley '09, Alumnae Development Officer, at
gwasley@mercyhs.org.
