B’nai Mitzvah of . . .

My name is Betsy Pearl Cooper and everyone refers to me as Betsy. My Bat Mitzvah is May 17, 2025.

For my mitzvah project, I have been volunteering at the Philly Friendship Circle. This organization provides kids with disabilities many social experiences. It allows people to always have fun and be themselves in this safe environment. Throughout the year, I completed the MVP program (Mitzvah Volunteer Program) where I learned about inclusion and how to help people have a sense of belonging. I also went to Sunday Circles when I would get teamed up with a friend and do fun activities with them. I am so happy to be a part of this organization, and I look forward to continuing with this in the future.

I attend Lower Moreland Middle School and I am in the seventh grade.

Hobbies I have been doing painting/arts and crafts, running with my mom, and hanging out with many of my friends. I have tons of fun in the winter when I get to ski and tons of fun in the summer when I get to water ski. I enjoy spending time with family including playing fetch and games with my dog, Tootsie.

I do many sports throughout the year. I love to play soccer, softball, and basketball for school and for travel teams, which I love to do with all my amazing friends. For softball I am a catcher, for soccer I play defense, and for basketball I am a point guard.

My parents are Sara and Brad Cooper.

We mark with sorrow the passing of . . .

LEGACY GIVING: Commit Today to Strengthen KI Tomorrow

Since our founding in 1847 as Philadelphia’s fourth synagogue, KI has been creating  bright pathways to Jewish life and learning for generations. As the area’s first Reform synagogue, we have a robust history and a deep commitment to providing our diverse membership with a welcoming atmosphere, critical community guidance and support, and multiple opportunities for transformational engagement in Jewish life. As you reflect on what is most meaningful to you, we ask that you consider KI’s future, and help ensure that the values that matter to you are secured. You can do this by making a Legacy Gift to KI – naming KI as a beneficiary in your will, charitable trust, life insurance policy, or retirement plan. Help us fulfill our responsibility to L’Dor V’Dor by ensuring that KI’s vibrant, inclusive community lives on to serve future generations.
