Every. Square. Inch.
As Pastor Steve shared with us this past Sunday, as followers of Jesus, we are called to look like Jesus in every single area of our lives. The Apostle Paul repeatedly uses language like -- whatever you do... in word or in deed... do everything in the Name of Jesus... 

We are to look like Jesus in everything...
 
And what does Jesus look like? 

The Cross. 
Self-sacrifice. 
Laying our lives down for the sake of others.
Jesus looks like love.
 
This is not to suggest that we are called to simply grit our teeth, and act loving towards others, pretending that we are behaving this way towards Jesus, instead of others. God never calls us to fake it or to ignore reality. No… what God is always inviting us towards is to enlarge our perspective. 

See others the way that God sees others.

If we can begin to catch a glimpse of those around us the way that God sees them -- as those made in God’s image, as our own brothers and sisters -- then, we will not simply act loving, we will be loving. 

So, may we follow the self-sacrificial way of Jesus in every area of our lives... in our marriages, in our families, in our jobs, within our church community, and within the wider world around us. May the Spirit of Jesus and the character of Jesus invade every square inch of our lives.

May we walk in the Image of God this week!

Sunday Services - Indoors and Online!

We are continuing to provide our have our Sunday Worship Services both online and inside the building!  

For those who choose to come and worship in-person with us on Sunday Mornings, these indoor services will be very similar to the services we were having outdoors over the summer:   

  •  We will be encouraging safe social-distancing.
  •  We are asking you to bring your own chairs.
  •  We will be requiring the use of face-masks.
  •  We will be encouraging the use of hand-sanitizer.
  •  There will be no Nursery or Children's Ministries.

However, indoor bathrooms will now be available for use. The building will be professionally cleaned each week, giving you the peace of mind that our space is as safe as it can possibly be during this time.
If you are comfortable with gathering at this time, 
please come out and join us!

No Regrets Men's Conference
The first Saturday in February is the No Regrets Men's Conference (for more details click here). This event is usually hosted at Faith Free, but due to the concerns surrounding Covid-19, this will NOT be an in-person event this year. However, the No Regrets Conference is available to be streamed online, and so we are considering the option of streaming the event at our church, if there are a number of men who might be interested in attending such an event. So, if you would be interested in attending a Live Stream of the No Regrets Men's Conference on Saturday, February 6th, please contact Arnie.

Scripture of the Week
Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV) -- In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death-even death on a cross!

This past Sunday we did a heart check for 2021. We asked... "why do we do what we do?"

May we live all of our lives as unto the Lord... and with love as the underlying motive.

In a crazy, angry, divided world... may followers of Jesus offer a true alternative.
