A New York City court deliberation room on a sweltering August evening becomes the scene where jury members must determine the verdict in a murder case in which a young man accused of killing his father now faces the death penalty if found guilty. The 12 men find themselves in the role of potential executioner, but first they must face themselves, their biases and their own sense of justice. An open-and -shut case soon twists into an edge-of-your-seat drama as each juror begins to question how he should cast his vote.

Judy is a personal friend of mine and so many others in the desert, as well as a wonderful singer. She has everything it takes to bring change and progress to Palm Springs. Judy's qualifications
will without doubt, be a huge asset to our community both now and in the future.
SO MANY NEW SHOW SUBMISSIONS THIS WEEK! And I even got a one with a PAY PAL DONATION which is really appreciated. I know having your 'ad' in this newsletter helps sell tickets and fill seats because readers tell me they went to see a great show and thank me because they would not have known about it otherwise. I mean where else can you see a full color flier with links to tickets and web sites and videos? I know a typical 1/4 page ad in a weekly paper will cost $275 and that is unreasonable considering many cabaret shows will take in less than that. So if you go and see a show please tell them you saw it here.
HELP! I'VE REACHED MY LIMIT! I also had to delete some "boxes" in order to add some shows because the service I use to create the newsletter only allows 100 boxes maximum and I reached my limit. If I have to I can limit the number of weeks I can leave items in, or cut out my videos of the week but they are some of the most popular features each week. BECOME A SUBSCRIBER: I also want to remind everyone again that I put together my newsletter on Mondays and usually do not finish until around 9 PM but by the time I send it out to my list there are already a few hundred people who have gone to read it on line only to find last Mondays issue. So it is best to do the free subscription and just wait for it to come to you. With the Sundays In Summer Series over until next April, it does allow me some time on Sundays to do much of the newsletter so I may be able to get it out earlier for a while. We'll see.

The one song and then go around again seems to be working well and most people are staying to hear everyone and do another song. There to sing were DONNY TEETERS with "My Ship", "Secret Love" & "Love Letters", LINDSAY OUELLETTE with "Witchcraft" & "You Don't Know Me', JEAN SORF was back again and sang "Whoopee" and one of my favorites "It's Magic", RAFE CORRELL did "Goodie Goodie" mashed with "I Want To Be Around" & "Blame It On My Youth", CLAUDIA SUSSMAN sang "I Could Have Told You", "I See Your Face Before Me" & "Young And Foolish", PHILLIP STEELE did "Surabaya Johnny", "Lost In The Stars", & I'm Just Fooling Myself", then TANYA NUNEZ sang "Goodbye Little Dream", "My Heart Belongs To Daddy" (by request from a guy in the audience) & "It's Always You", BRIANNA FINNELL did a classical operatic piece called "Ach Ich Fuhls" from The Magic Flute which was quite impressive, "I'd Give My Love To You" (Miss Saigon), & "Just Once" (Fantastiks) with a monolog, NONI LAMBERTSON sang a Halloween number with "Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered", "More Than You Know" & a pride number "Over The Rainbow", MARJIE & NOEL GRENNAN came in costume, she was a SWAT officer and sang "That's All" and he was a London Bobbie singing "After The Loving" - turns out it was really Noel's uniform from his former job back in England. And last up we had BILL VON GOLIAN doing "I'll Be Seeing You" which he dedicated to Claudia & JOEL Sussman since they will be leaving for West Hollywood soon and we will all miss them - ALOT!
REMEMBER: MAKE RESERVATIONS on their voice mail so you get a good table. And PARK IN THE LOT BEHIND THE BANK, it is a shorter walk and it looks better for cars driving by to see it busy.
WHAT HAPPENED AT AJ'S ON SATURDAY:
We had a real treat this week with TIBOR LESKO joining us with his Upright Bass. It was nice to see everyone bring out their standards and a few jazz numbers and allow him to add his touch to their songs like DONNY TEETERS doing "Again", "Stormy Monday" & My Foolish Heart", LINDSAY OUELETTE with "Cry Me A River" & "Rockabye Your Baby", FRED MILLER doing "Are The Stars Out Tonight", newcomer WYNN sang "Losing My Mind", JEAN SORF did another of my favorites "Hey There" & "I'll Be Seeing You" - also dedicated to Claudia & Joel Sussman, then it was RAFE CORRELL with "I Want To Be Around", SHIRLEY COLES joined us again with a party of 10 and sang "If You Really Loved Me" & "Over The Rainbow", and MAX MITCHELL returned again, he worked privately with Joel and came in with "The Ladies Who Sing With The Band" & "If You Could See Her Through My Eyes", TANYA NUNEZ came to sing "In My Solitude", VICKI KNIGHT sang "Al De La", "Kratchma" & "Happiness Is Just A Thing Called Joe", MARGE HARRIS sang "Some Of These Days" & "Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend" then LARRY HARRIS gave us "A Day In The Life Of A Fool" & "That's Life" - Marge & Larry are leaving this week for Florida for 11 days, so we'll see them when they get back. We also had a few new singers from the audience who were great, NORM sang "My Funny Valentine" & "I've Got You Under My Skin", LB sang SAM COOK'S "Long Time Coming", TONY sang "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" and once again we have found a server that sings, this time it's JESSICA who started at AJ's about a month ago and is an excellent server as well as singer doing "Crazy". Okay that was it. Once again thank you to Tibor for joining us on his bass. See you next Saturday and just so everyone knows, DAVID HIRSCH will be filling in for Joel next Saturday so please bring your sheet music just in case he does not know your songs. NOTE: There is a HUGE parking lot just past the front lot on your left. Remember to make reservations and see you next time.

RECIPE OF THE WEEK
INGREDIENTS:
1 large sheet of puff pastry dough or 1 tube of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 round or wedge of Brie cheese (do not remove rind)
Raspberry Jam, or other sweet jam
Brown sugar
1/4 cup of maple syrup
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. If you want, start with chilled brie and use a sharp knife to carefully cut off the thin top rind of the cheese. This may help the crust stay with the cheese when served. The rind is edible so you don't have to do this step if you don't want to.
2. On a stick-free cookie sheet, lay out the puff pastry or the crescent rolls flat; put the brie round or wedge on top.
3. Spread jam on brie, fold dough over top, cutting off excess dough. Drizzle maple syrup and place a handful of brown sugar on top.
4. Bake at 350� for 25-30 minutes, pastry should be golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with crackers and apple slices.
